Lifesize Dummy

  • I got two of these from Walmart after Maley picked her's up. For the money, you won't find a better prop dummy. They are a full 6 feet tall, and very proportionate to a real human. It came a bit under stuffed, probably for shipping reasons. But, you can open the back to add more filling, and coat hangers for rigidity. I would have liked the head to be a bit more supportive for hats or masks. I paid about $80 for the two of them w/shipping!

    Pro's:
    Cheap
    Full size
    Easily storable
Back opens to add more fill
    Material appears to be washable
    Has lifelike, hard rubber hands

    Con's:
    No inner frame
    A little understuffed
    Flexible head

Yup! I checked around, and Walmart was the cheapest. I usually boycot Walmart because of there labor practices, but sheesh...$15 differance...

  • I can't compare because I've never been to the states but ASDA usually stocks some nice stuff, some are cheesy but some are cool... I bought a skull fogger 2 or 3 years ago there..
We don't have anything like that here  :banghead:

  • Maley has 2 of them.  She stuffed more cotton into them, and added wire hangers to give it more of a frame.
The hands look funky on them.

  • Yeah, the hands are a bit odd and I think mine has two rights :cheesy:

How did you rig up the hangers? Is the wire rigid enough to pose the dummy?

  • Its enough to keep the head from being floppy, and the shoulders looking broad.  Other then that, they didnt do too much for it.  I am thinking that making a PVC structure for it would be better then using the hangers.

  • The hangers work.  I can sit them down and have the legs bend.

  • This year mione was sitting, but last year i rigged up a pipe to make him stand. It strapped to the neck, then ran inside the back of the shirt and into the ground. I didn't want to head up anyway, because it had no mask on :great:
