My latest tombstone.
« on: August 23, 2017, 09:42:17 PM »

So my cancer survivorship person said that my job was like a carrot dangling in front of a horse to make him move forward and I needed to find a new carrot to follow.  So I decided to put my minimal energy and time into something I enjoy.  Building Halloween props.  It's taking forever to do, but I plan on having it done for this year's Halloween display.

Well I finally finished transferring the lettering onto the foam.  Took me almost 2 weeks to do.  Just don't have any energy on chemo....  :fie:

Next step is to start carving...  :aggressive:  Goal is to have it done for October.

Wow, very nice! What are you going to carve the letters with? Looks too small for a dremel.

Customized wood burning tool, bent for easy writing.  Just burn the letters in.  The top "Cancer Sucks" will be raised letters, by cutting out the background.  Hopefully I'll be able to create the ribbon as a lit from within and have the LED's fade through the colors representing the multiple colored ribbons for all the different cancers.  I know its a lot of work, but this stone has meaning to me.  :pod:

Oh, nice. I have a Hot Foam kit I've never even used. I should try it out.

What if you just cut a slit for the ribbon, and lay it in sideways? It would be subtle, but wouldn't show the ribbon much.
